Dossett Myron representativPEMBROKE, Ky. (12/15/17) — On Thursday, Rep. Myron Dossett filed to seek re-election to the Kentucky General Assembly in the 9th House District. The 9th district includes parts of Christian and Hopkins Counties.

“It’s been an honor for me to represent the 9th district and have the opportunity to work for and with the citizens of both counties,” said Dossett. “I’ve enjoyed building relationships with elected officials in my district and more importantly, I’ve enjoyed helping citizens of Christian and Hopkins counties address trying issues such as health insurance, safety concerns, business concerns, and issues dealing with family problems.”

Dossett attended Murray State University. He is a small business owner and a former magistrate on the Christian County Fiscal Court.

Since being elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 2006, Dossett has made it his priority to address the problems plaguing this commonwealth, he said. His current key issues are ensuring a financially solvent pension system that keeps the promise made to public servants, reforming the tax code, eliminating the state income tax, and improving education in a way that benefits both dedicated educators and Kentucky’s children.

“We have accomplished much during this past legislative session and we intend on accomplishing much more during this upcoming session in 2018,” remarked Rep. Dossett. “Cleaning up the mess left by the Democrats including an underfunded pension system, reforming our tax code, and improving education for students and educators alike are vastly important issues that still need to be addressed. I look forward to sharing my vision on how to fix those things as I campaign for re-election in next year.”

Dossett is a lifetime resident of Pembroke and currently lives there with his wife, Tracy.

Rep. Dossett serves on the Appropriations and Revenue, Agriculture, Veterans Military Affairs and Public Protection Committees. And, he also serves as co-chairman of the Tobacco Settlement Funds Oversight Committee and chair of the Budget Review Subcommittee on Personnel, Public Retirement and Finance.
