knollHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (12/21/17) — Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Daniel R. Knoll, 28, on charges related to distribution and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor this week.

Knoll was taken into custody Tuesday as a result of an undercover KSP Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, according to the report. KSP began the investigation after discovering Knoll shared files of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in serving a search warrant at a residence in Hopkinsville Tuesday. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination, Post 2 reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Knoll was charged with 19 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.

He was listed as being held in Christian County Jail this evening on $25,000 cash bond.
