tuckerHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (2/9/18) — A former Christian County Sheriff’s Office deputy who also served as president of the Christian County Juvenile Services Foundation was indicted on felony theft charges today.

According to a Kentucky State Police Post 2 press release, the two-month investigation led to the arrest of Steven “Stevie” Tucker, 49 of Hopkinsville. The evidence was presented to a Christian County Grand Jury, which returned the indictment today.

“Tucker stole in excess of $55,000 over a seven year period,” KSP wrote in a press release. He was charged with theft by unlawful taking (over $10,000), a Class C felony. Troopers reported they received a complaint that alleged Tucker had stolen several thousands from the nonprofit organization in December.

KSP said Tucker resigned his position as deputy for CCSO early this month. He turned himself in to KSP at the Christian County Jail at 2 p.m. today.

Bond information was not listed on the Christian County Jail website.

“Tucker’s role as the President of the Christian County Juvenile Services Foundation Inc. was not contractually connected to his role as sheriff’s deputy,” KSP stated.

The foundation is a nonprofit that works closely with juveniles criminally charged with drug offenses.

The investigation is ongoing by Detective Daniel Morck with the KSP Special Investigations Section.
