Ohio County EaglesMORGANTOWN, Ky. (3/19/19) — Ohio County opened the 2019 high school baseball season with a win, upending host Butler County 7-1 on Monday.

Familiar foes, Ohio County and Butler County are longtime Third Region rivals. 

Travis Fulkerson led Ohio County to the victory. On the mound, Fulkerson allowed only one hit over six innings and earned the win. Also excelling offensively, Fulkerson went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Tanner Batts belted a home run and drove in two runs as Ohio County won. Batts, Wade Everley and Alex Reyes scored two runs apiece for the Eagles in the winning effort.

Ohio County scored first and never trailed. The Eagles led 7-0 before Butler County answered with its first run.

Butler County pitcher Warren Cameron suffered the loss.

Defensively, Butler County committed three errors.
