fatal collision 3 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (5/14/18) — Two Hopkinsville teens died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash that occurred at midnight Sunday. Two Hopkinsville passengers in the vehicle were injured.

According to Hopkinsville Police Department reports, Darrius A. Burse, 17 of Hopkinsville, was driving northbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard, when he apparently struck a curb along the 2200 block. Burse lost control of a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, traveled off the road and struck a pole. The vehicle overturned.

Police noted speed may have been a factor. An Advanced Medical sign and front door were damaged at the Save More Drugs parking lot during the incident.

Burse was taken by medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of injuries, the report listed. A female passenger, Keylee M. Lane, 15, was also taken to Vanderbilt via medical helicopter.

Christian County Coroner Dorris Lamb pronounced passengers Darius Majors, 16, and Jacory Burse, 17, dead at the scene, HPD reported. They were taken by ambhearse to Madisonville for autopsy.
