SpurlinHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (3/24/19) — Hopkinsville Police Department Lt. Kyle Spurlin recently graduated from the FBI National Academy program.

Spurlin completed the class March 15 in Quantico, Virginia, which was noted as the 275th academy session for U.S. and international law enforcement leaders.

“The FBI National Academy is an educational experience like no other,” Spurlin said in a statement. “Not only did participants learn from the FBI’s senior instructors, we also learned from each other. The exchange of information from both sources will be invaluable to the city of Hopkinsville. In addition to the formal training the relationships developed over the ten week course have resulted in what I am sure will be lifelong friendships.”

HPD reported the academy curriculum consisted of advanced investigative management, leadership and fitness training. Spurlin was nominated for the academy, which will benefit the department.

Spurlin began serving the city of Hopkinsville in 2003.
