HCC Nurses 5 13

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (5/13/19) — Hopkinsville Community College recognized nursing program graduates during the recent spring Nurse Pinning Ceremony.

Twenty-seven graduating nurses received pins in addition to special recognition including Natalie Kela for the Spirit of Nightingale Award and Nimela Minich for the Outstanding Student Nurse Award.

The Pinning Ceremony is designed to be ceremonial, formal and traditional, college officials reported. The event provides for an opportunity to pay homage to the highly respected field of nursing and the special kind of graduate it takes to fill the shoes of a nurse. Students receiving pins will become part of history — both of the legacy of these highly respected nursing programs and of the tradition of the nursing pin, a 1,000 year-old symbol of service to others.
