kentucky trans yellow 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (7/9/19) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on a section of U.S. 41 just north of Hopkinsville in Christian County starting Wednesday.

U..S 41 will be restricted to one lane at milepoint 15.333 to allow rehabilitation work on the North Fork Little River Bridge, KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd reported. This work zone is along U.S. 41 approximately half-mile north of the Kentucky 1682/Eagle Way Hopkinsville Bypass.

Todd asked drivers to be prepared to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal.  Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Ragle Inc. is the prime contractor. This contract is part of a $1.19 million group project that includes work on two other bridges to be scheduled later. The target completion date for work on Fork Little River Bridge is Oct. 10.

This project is part of the Bridging Kentucky program which aims to repair or replace about a thousand critical bridges over about four years. For more information, go to www.bridgingkentucky.com.
