According to arrest citations, the driver, identified as 57-year-old Michael K. Glass of Hopkinsville, was driving a Honda Rubicon ATV in the middle of 12507 Ovil Road at 4:11 p.m. Wednesday. He was swerving from side to side going eastbound, and accelerated as the deputy activated lights and sirens.

“He accelerated and went off the road onto the grass around the front of my marked unit as I yelled for him to stop out of my window,” Deputy Charlie Fiscella wrote.

Glass went up a driveway “tearing up gravel,” according to reports, and fled onto a rough “back country road into the woods” at a reckless rate of speed before stopping at the bottom of a hill. The deputy noted he could smell alcohol on the man from 6 feet away.

Glass was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI (third offense), driving on a suspended or revoked license, second-degree fleeing police, no registration plate, no insurance and ATV violations.
