lane closures green 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/1/19) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans night paving starting Monday along Kentucky 115/Pembroke-Oak Grove Road, immediately south of the I-24 Pembroke-Oak Grove Exit 89 interchange in Christian County.

This night paving project is near Walter Garrett Lane and the Pilot Travel Center, between mile points 2.322-2.776, KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd Reported.

Todd asks drivers to be prepared upon encountering work zone lane restrictions along this section of Kentucky 115 at the north edge of Oak Grove nightly, between 7 p.m.-5 a.m. Paving in this work zone is being scheduled at night to help minimize traffic snarls, KYTC reported. However, with heavy truck traffic around the I-24 Pembroke-Oak Grove Exit 89 interchange, some congestion is likely while the paving crew is onsite.

This work zone will be active during overnight hours anytime weather allows through approximately Saturday, Aug. 10. Rogers Group is the prime contractor on this $625,244 highway improvement project.

Drivers will encounter one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers, Todd said. Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
