Vehicle Pursuit 01 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (8/3/19) — A collision involving a motorcycle and sheriff’s deputy cruiser resulted in one man injured following a reported pursuit along Pennyrile Parkway over the weekend.

Kentucky State Police trooper Michael Dennis was on patrol 2:58 p.m. Friday, when he witnessed the motorcycle traveling north near Hopkinsville at a “high rate of speed,” KSP reported.

The driver, identified as Jack Kao, 22 of Fort Campbell, exited the parkway at mile-marker 11, where the trooper indicated he lost sight of the motorcycle driver.

Christian County Sheriff’s Office deputies were in that area to assist, according to the report, when Christian County Dispatch notified KSP the biker wrecked after colliding with a deputy’s vehicle.

Kao was taken via medical helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee for treatment of injuries sustained during the collision. His condition was not listed and there were no other reported injuries.

Kao is facing charges of first-degree fleeing police, five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, no registration plate, speeding 26 mph or more over limit and disregarding a stop sign.
