deer auto collision red 01CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (8/8/19) — A driver traveling north along Crofton-Macedonia Road was injured during an attempt to avoid a deer.

A Christian County Sheriff’s Office collision report lists Roxie A. Lunsford, 55 of Crofton, was negotiating a curve 5:23 a.m. Monday, when the deer ran out from the shoulder of the road, colliding with the right side of the Ford Escape.

The driver swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid the deer, left the road and went into a ditch, CCSO reported. The vehicle struck a cattle fence and utility pole.

Lunsford was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Deputy Jack Rowlands investigated the incident.
