KSP logoHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (8/12/19) — Two deputies and a Missouri driver were injured during a Friday night collision along I-24.

Kentucky State Police Post 2 Trooper Cody Kromer is investigating after responding to the call near mile-marker 81 Friday night after an unidentified driver switched lanes in front of the deputy.

Preliminary investigation reveals Christian County Deputy Charles Fiscella, 53 of Hopkinsville, was driving a Dodge Charger in the left lane of I-24, using lights and sirens, while responding to a complaint. Special Deputy Phillip Eastman, 44 of Hopkinsville, was listed as a passenger with Fiscella.

Meanwhile, in the area of mile-marker 81, an unknown vehicle switched from the right lane to the left in front of the deputy, KSP indicated. To prevent colliding with the vehicle in front of him, Fiscella swerved right, and then struck the rear of a 2002 Toyota Camry driven by Johnny Lacey, 19, of West Plains, Missouri.

Fiscella, Eastman and Lacey were taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
