Deputy David King was stationary nearby, when a passerby told him a vehicle overturned 7:56 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest citation. The deputy was on the scene in less than two minutes, reporting the driver was leaning against the guardrail and her vehicle was overturned blocking the ramp.

After speaking to 25-year-old Rachel M. Bailey-Jones, the deputy indicated detecting a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath, although she denied consuming alcohol before the crash. Jones sought medical attention and was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

After medically cleared, Bailey-Jones was taken the Christian County Jail on the DUI charge.

Christian County Sheriff’s Office also released the following report today:

Iva Katherine Christensen of Oak Grove was charged Oct. 12 with fourth-degree assault-domestic violence and public intoxication.
