Bonnie and SamHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (10/19/19) — The Sam and Bonnie Rechter Family Trust, Rogers Group Investments have been named 2019 Benefactors of the Year by Hopkinsville Community College President, Dr. Alissa Young, college officials reported.

The Rechters’ gifts to the college include investment in the Emerging Technologies Center recently opened on campus. A classroom on the first floor of the new facility bears the name of the trust. Sam and Bonnie Rechter, residents of Louisville, will be represented by their daughter, Lori Harper, at the upcoming HCC Foundation Gala on Nov. 1 at the Bruce Convention Center.

According to Harper, the trust invests in education, children and health projects, with the family providing guidance to the Community Foundation of Louisville on how funds should be designated. The trust was created in the early 1990’s. The Rechters and their family are deeply committed to the communities in which they live, making financial investments in those areas.

“We are grateful to the Rechters for providing new spaces for instruction, HCC Chief Advancement Officer Yevette Eastham stated. "Their gifts will resonate for many years as students train in career fields and technologies we can only imagine,” Dr. Young stated. “The Rechters are well known for their philanthropic giving, and we are grateful to have earned their investment, and look forward to celebrating their generosity."

Sponsorship opportunities and tickets are still available for the Nov. 1 HCC Foundation Gala, which begins 5:30 p.m. at The Bruce, and can be purchased by calling HCC’s Chief Institutional Advancement Officer at (270) 707-3733.
