Discipline, determination and a deep faith in God propelled Eric Coleman from a small western Kentucky town to a successful career as an engineer, business executive and entrepreneur. In “Not by Accident: The Blessed Journey of Eric D. Coleman,“ Eric, 49, shares his story of growing up in a family of modest means, and recognizing early on that education would be his pathway to a better life. By earning multiple college degrees, setting clear goals and capitalizing on every opportunity, he has built a life of financial security and independence.

Susie Coleman Archer is currently Director of Strategy and Implementation at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and also serves as Interim Director of the International Student and Scholar Services Office. She has been at Vanderbilt over twenty years and served in numerous capacities: Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs, Executive Sponsor of Student Systems Implementation, Director of Enrollment Management Strategic Process Enhancements and Associate University Registrar. Susie was appointed Dean of Admissions and Records at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she was responsible for Recruiting and Admissions, Registration, Records, Financial Aid and Commencement. She has also worked as college registrar at Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In addition to her roles in higher education administration, Susie was a member of the history faculty at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. She also taught for the University of Maryland and European Branch, in Berlin, Germany. In addition, she has also taught adjunct courses for Columbia College (MO), Utah Branch.

Susie has served as president of the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, president of the Tennessee Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and president of the Utah Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.  She has also presented at conferences and events across the country.
