apollo eagles logo 2015HENDERSON, Ky. (11/28/17) — The Apollo E-gals prevailed on Monday night, upending the host Henderson County Lady Colonels 50-42 in a girls' high school basketball season opener.

Productive Apollo shot over 50 percent from the field in the winning effort.

Braelyn Rhodes led Apollo to the win, scoring a game-high 24 points. Rhodes was the only E-gal to reach double figures in the scoring column.

Along with Rhodes, Kassidy Clark scored seven points and Keisha Mattingly chipped in six points for visiting Apollo.

Rounding out the Apollo individual scoring, Amber Dunn and Haley John contributed five points apiece and Lexi Shadowen added three points.

Alyssa Dickson scored a team-high 20 points for Henderson County in the loss. Dickson was the only Lady Colonel to reach double figures in the scoring column.

Additional scorers for Henderson County in the setback were Kaytlan Kemp (seven points), Savannah Lacer (seven points) M Kyra Dixon (six points) and Lauren Hubbard (four points).
