Owensboro Catholic logoOWENSBORO, Ky. (11/28/17) — The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces made a great first impression in the 2017-18 girls' high school basketball season, rolling past the visiting Ohio County Lady Eagles 69-15 on Monday night.

Owensboro Catholic used a balanced offensive attack as three players reached double figures in the scoring column. Hannah McKay paced Owensboro Catholic with a game-high 14 points, nearly matching Ohio County's scoring total. Joining McKay in double figures for the Lady Aces, Spencer Harvey added 11 points and Bynnan Booth netted 10 points.

A total of 10 different Owensboro Catholic players scored in the convincing victory over familiar Third Region rival Ohio County. Additional scorers for the Lady Aces were MacKenzie Keelin (seven points), Ellie Mitchell (seven points), Ally Maggard (six points), Mary Mills (five points), Sarah Clemens (four points) Madelyn Lyon (three points) and Caroline Reid (two points).

Lyon led Owensboro Catholic on the glass, securing seven rebounds.

The Lady Aces shot 50 percent (26-of-52) from the field, including 6-of-24 (42.9 percent) beyond the arc.

Owensboro Catholic shot 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from the free throw line.
