McLean County CougarsELKTON, Ky. (11/30/17) — Whitley Patterson scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to post a double-double and lead visiting McLean County past Todd County Central in a girls' high school basketball season-opener. McLean County pulled away to defeat host Todd County Central 45-35 on Monday night.

The Lady Cougars prevailed despite shooting only 23.3 percent (14-of-60) from the field. McLean County went 3-for-15 beyond the arc.

Making up for some poor field goal shooting, McLean County shot 82.4 percent from the foul line, connecting on 14 of 17 free throw attempts.

Madison Miller accompanied Patterson in double figures for the Lady Cougars, tallying 11 points.

Kassidy Daugherty scored six points and Lauren Hudson netted four points for McLean County in the victory.

Haven Algood, Jade Fulkerson and Bailie Walker rounded out the McLean County individual scoring with two points apiece.

The McLean County and Todd County Central girls' basketball teams aren't scheduled to meet again this season.
