Hopkins County Central StormMORTONS GAP, Ky. (12/3/17) — Host Hopkins County Central pulled away to defeat Fairfield, Ill., 55-48 in an early-season girls' high school basketball game on Saturday.

With the win, Hopkins County Central improved to 2-1. The Lady Storm returned to the win column following a loss to Christian County two days earlier.

Gabriella Baxter and Nykea Ikeard scored 20 points apiece to lead Hopkins County Central to the win. Ikeard recorded a double-double, pulling down 10 rebounds for Hopkins County Central.

The Lady Storm were 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) from 3-point range in the winning effort.

Additional scorers for Hopkins County Central were Madison Grigg (four points), Keira James (four points), Hailie Hollis (three points), Madelyn Tow (three points) and Somaya Stafford (one point).
