LEXINGTON, Ky. (12/29/17) — Madisonville-North Hopkins won its opening round game in the Central Bank Classic at Lexington Christian High School on Wednesday, outlasting Central 60-53 in overtime.
With the win, Madisonville-North Hopkins improved to 10-3.
Central slipped to 1-7 with the loss.
Madisonville-North Hopkins shot 45.5 percent (20-of-44) from the field. The Maroons were 5-of-12 (41.7 percent) from 3-point range.
Madisponville-North Hopkins shot 57.7 percent (15-of-26) from the free throw line.
Ksuan Casey led Madisonville-North Hopkins with 18 points. Flirting with a double-double, Casey claimed nine rebounds.
Kenny White accompanied Casey in double figures in the Madisonville-North Hopkins scoring column and also barely missed posting a double-double, netting 15 points and pulling nine rebounds.
Cade Cunningham scored nine points while James Gilbert and Marquise Parker pushed in eight points for the Maroons.
Gilbert led the Maroons on the glass, grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds.
