Owensboro Catholic logo 325ASHLAND, Ky. (12/30/17) — John Marshall scored a game-high 22 points to lead Owensboro Catholic to a thrilling 51-50 win over Dixie Heights in the Ashland Invitational at Ashland Blazer High School on Friday.

With the win, Owensboro Catholic improved to 7-5.

Dixie Heights dropped to 5-9 with the loss.

The Aces outscored Dixie Heights 12-10 in the final quarter to claim the victory.

Marshall was the only Owensboro Catholic player to reach double figures in the scoring column. Bailey Ballard and Gabe McFarland added eight points apiece for the Aces in the hard-fought win.

Jabari Karim paced Dixie Heights with 18 points. Dixie Heights featured three scorers in double figures as Jamin Shumate tossed in 12 points and Tyler Schreck contributed 11 points.

In the other games played in the Ashland Invitational on Friday it was Mason County 66, Breathitt County 64; Vestavia Hills (Ala.) 64, Holy Cross (Covington) 61 and Ashland Blazer 83, Boyd County 80 in double overtime.
