maroons3LEXINGTON, Ky. (12/30/17) — Madisonville-North Hopkins claimed its fourth straight win on Friday, edging Beechwood 59-56 in overtime in the Central Bank Classic at Lexington Christian High School.

With the win, Madisonville-North Hopkins improved to 11-3. Thus far in the 2017-18 boys' high school basketball season, Madisonville-North Hopkins boasts the most wins of any 2nd Region team.

Madisonville-North Hopkins shot 47.3 percent (26-of-55) from the field. The Maroons were 5-of-17 (29.4 percent) from 3-point range.

Marquise Parker paced Madisonville-North Hopkins with 14 points. Parker was the only Madisonville-North Hopkins player to reach double figures in the scoring column. 

But the Maroons made the most of a balanced offensive attack as James Gilbert and Kenny White netted nine points apiece.

Ksuan Casey and Cade Cunningham posted eight points apiece while Christian Fields registered six points and Joradn Vaughan added five points in Madisonville-North Hopkins' victory.

Casey led Madisonville-North Hopkins on the backboards, claiming seven rebounds.
