DCMORTONS GAP, Ky. (12/31/17) — Greenwood prevented Daviess County from claiming a top-three finish in the Lady Storm United Mine Workers of America Classic, edging the Lady Panthers 48-44 in the third-place game of the holiday tournament at Hopkins County Central High School on Saturday.

With the loss, Daviess County dropped to 5-10.

Greenwood improved to 6-5 with the win.

Carly Miller paced Greenwood with 14 points. Miler was the only Greenwood player to reach double figures in the scoring column.

Greenwood owned a single digit lead at the end of each quarter.

Bailey Hume led Daviess County with a game-high 16 points.

Emma Anderson accompanied Hume in double figures for the Lady Panthers, posting 10 points.
