maroons 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/1/18) — The Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons compiled a 1-2 record in the South Central Bank-Halton Classic at Allen County-Scottsville High School in Scottsville Thursday-Saturday.

Following back-to-back losses to in-state rivals Simon Kenton and Bowling Green, Madisonville-North Hopkins beat Lecanto, Fla. to land in the win column.

Simon Kenton pulled away to defeat Madisonville-North Hopkins 64-19 in the opening round of the South Central Bank-Halton Classic on Thursday.

One day later on Friday, Bowling Green beat Madisonville-North Hopkins 66-37 in the second round of the South Central Bank-Halton Classic.

But the Lady Maroons managed to win convincingly in the final round of the South Central Bank-Halton Classic, rolling past Lecanto, Fla., 56-23 on Saturday.

Madisonville-North Hopkins is slated to entertain Hopkinsville as part of a boys-girls high school basketball doubleheader on Tuesday.

The Lady Maroons have additional regular-season games remaining versus University Heights, Caldwell County, Ohio County, Dawson Springs, Trigg County, Webster County, Henderson County, Owensboro, Hopkins County Central, Calloway County, McLean County, Lyon County, McCracken County, Marshall County and Apollo.
