Owensboro Catholic logo 325GREENVILLE, Ky. (1/3/18) — Visiting Owensboro Catholic defeated Muhlenberg County 63-54 in a girls' high school basketball game on Tuesday night.

With the win, Owensboro Catholic improved to 10-3.

Muhlenberg County dropped to 11-5 with the loss.

The Lady Aces started strong and owned a lead at the conclusion of each quarter. Owensboro Catholic led 31-18 at halftime and outscored host Muhlenberg County 16-6 in the third period.

Four Owensboro Catholic players reached double figures in the scoring column. Mackenzie Keelin, a junior guard, led Owensboro Catholic with a game-high 22 points.

Sarah Clemens, Hannah McKay and Ellie Mitchell accompanied Keelin in double figures for the Lady Aces, scoring 11 points apiece.

Erica Cary paced Muhlenberg County with 16 points.

Alaira Drake was the only other Muhlenberg County player to reach double figures in the scoring column, posting 13 points.

Destin Armour and Raegan Blackburn chipped in eight points apiece for the Lady Mustangs in the setback.
