McLean CountyHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (1/3/18) — Senior guard Whitley Patterson scored 24 points and joined the McLean County girls' basketball program's 1,000 point club as the Lady Cougars defeated University Heights 61-55 on Tuesday night.

With the win, McLean County improved to 10-4.

University Heights dropped to 4-7 with the loss.

Longtime rivals McLean County and University Heights swapped leads on multiple occasions during the hoops matchup made up of foes from neighboring regions. 

Lauren Hudson joined Patterson in double figures for the Lady Cougars, posting 15 points.

Helping the McLean County offensive attack, Madison Miller contributed nine points and Hadley Rice chipped in eight points.

Senior guard Anshanique Leavell led University Heights with a game-high 30 points.

Lily Hendricks accompanied Leavell in double figures for University Heights, netting 19 points.
