Owensboro HSOWENSBORO, Ky. (1/7/18) — Owensboro didn't have any trouble fending off visiting Taylor County in a boys' high school basketball game on Saturday. The Red Devils rolled to another victory, winning 81-47.

With the win, Owensboro improved to 13-4.

Continuing to struggle, Taylor County dropped to 2-10 with the loss.

Deonte Douglas led a balanced Owensboro offensive attack, scoring a team-high 16 points for the Red Devils.

Four Owensboro players reached double figures in the scoring column as Darrion Wimsatt and Jeron Tinsley tossed in 13 points apiece and Cory Gardner contributed 12 points.

Dominant Owensboro, which notched its third consecutive win, owned a 36-19 lead at halftime.

Nick Knifley led Taylor County with a game-high 19 points.

Austin Ellis joined Knifley in double figures for the Cardinals, tossing in 10 points.

Taylor County suffered its fifth straight loss.
