Hopkins County Central StormPRINCETON, Ky. (1/7/18) — Hopkins County Central swept Union County in the 6th/7th District Challenge at Caldwell County High School on Saturday, winning boys' and girls' basketball games.

A look at each Hopkins County Central-Union County basketball matchup follows.

 

Girls - Hopkins County Central 37, Union County 28: KeKe Ikeard scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Hopkins County Central past Union County 37-28 in the 6th/7th District Challenge at Caldwell County High School on Saturday.

The victory allowed Hopkins County Central to halt a three-game losing skid.

With the win, Hopkins County Central improved to 9-8.

Union County dropped to 3-12 with the loss.

Gabriella Baxter chipped in six points for the Lady Storm in the win.

Somaya Stafford and Hailie Hollis contributed four points apiece as Hopkins County Central prevailed. 

 

Boys - Hopkins County Central 82, Union County 69: Hopkins County Central pulled away to defeat Union County 82-69 in the 6th/7th District Challenge at Caldwell County High School on Saturday.

With the win, Hopkins County Central improved to 8-7.

Union County slipped to 7-8 with the loss.
