WC logoMORTONS GAP, Ky. (2/9/18) — Visiting Webster County rolled past Hopkins County Central on Thursday night, defeating the Lady Storm 64-17 in a girls' high school basketball game.

The Lady Trojans claimed their 20th victory in the 2017-18 season.

With the win, Webster County improved to 20-6.

Hopkins County Central dropped to 12-14 with the loss.

The Lady Trojans set the tone early, outscoring host Hopkins County Central 24-6 in the first quarter. Dominant Webster County led 42-8 at halftime and added to its lead after intermission.

Marissa Austin led Webster County with a game-high 19 points. Austin was the only Webster County player to reach double figures in the scoring column. Narrowly missing double figures, Karlie Keeney netted nine points. Both Austin and Keeney drained three 3-point field goals.

Gabriella Baxter paced Hopkins County Central with six points.
