wc bbb logoOWENSBORO, Ky. (2/11/18) — Webster County claimed its fourth straight win on Saturday night, defeating host Owensboro 65-39 in a girls' high school basketball game.

With the win, Webster County improved to 21-6.

Owensboro dropped to 7-17 with the loss.

Jamie Winstead led Webster County to the victory, scoring a game-high 22 points. Winstead was the leader of a group of four Webster County scorers in double figures. Marissa Austin scored 14 points, Jessica Winders added 13 points and Karlie Keeney contributed 10 points for the Lady Trojans.

Webster County moved ahead early and never faltered. The Lady Trojans doubled up Owensboro 18-9 in the opening quarter, led 28-17 at halftime and remained in control of the contest throughout the second half.

Tayonna Greer and Victoria Whitlock paced Owensboro with 11 points apiece.
