Hopkins County Central StormHENDERSON, Ky. (3/2/18) — Hopkins County Central's postseason run ended in the opening round of the Second Region Boys' Basketball Tournament. University Heights topped Hopkins County Central 104-74 in the quarterfinals of the Second Region Boys' Basketball Tournament at Henderson County High School on Thursday night.

With the loss, Hopkins County Central ended its season 16-14.

University Heights improved to 21-7 and advances to the semifinals of the Second Region Boys' Basketball Tournament with the win.

The Storm fared well early but couldn't keep up with University Heights.

Five University Heights players reached double figures in the scoring column. Kyky Tandy led the Blazers with a game-high 34 points.

Accompanying Tandy in double figures for University Heights, Drew McGowan scored 14 points, K.J. Crump chipped in 12 points, Ta'Quan Hollowell posted 11 points and William Bryan netted 10 points.

Keyairreon Hobgood led Hopkins County Central with a team-high 28 points. Hopkins County Central featured three scorers in double figures as Tyler Mann netted 12 points and Blasin Moore scored 10 points.

In the nightcap, Union County pushed past Crittenden County, winning 54-42. 

University Heights will meet Union County in the semifinals of the Second Region Boys' Basketball Touranament at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
