WC logoDIXON, Ky. (3/3/18) — Webster County is headed to the Second Region Girls' Basketball Tournament championship game. The Lady Trojans pulled away to defeat Hopkinsville 60-43 in the semifinals of the Second Region Girls' Basketball Tournament at Webster County High School on Friday night.

With the win, Webster County improved to 27-6.

Hopkinsville ended its season 20-11 with the loss.

The Lady Trojans set the tone early, jumping out to an 11-0 lead. Webster County led 20-5 at the conclusion of the first quarter and carried a commanding 39-14 lead into halftime.

Jessica Winders led Webster County with a game-high 17 points. Accompanying Winders in double figures for the Lady Trojans, Karlie Keeney contributed 13 points.

Yogi McKnight paced Hopkinsville with 15 points. McKnight was the only Hopkinsville player to reach double figures in the scoring column.

Webster County will face Christian County in the Second Region Girls' Basketball Tournament title game at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
