wc bbb logoDIXON, Ky. (3/4/18) — Webster County is headed to the Girls' Sweet 16. The Lady Trojans captured the Second Region championship on their home floor on Saturday evening, defeating Christian County 45-32.

With the win, Webster County improved to 28-6 and advances to the state tournament.

Christian County ended its season 23-8 with the loss.

The Lady Trojans led at the conclusion of each quarter, edging Christian County 11-10 in the opening period before putting some distances between themselves and the opposing squad.

After holding Christian County scoreless in the second quarter, Webster County carried a 23-10 lead into halftime. Webster County led 33-22 at the conclusion of the third quarter.

Karlie Keeney paced Webster County with a game-high 12 points. Accompanying Keeney in double figures for the Lady Trojans, Jessica Winders scored 10 points.

Aaliyah Hampton paced Christian County with 10 points. Hampton was the only Christian County player to reach double figures in the scoring column. Narrowly missing reaching double figures, Trinitee Jackson tossed in nine points for the Lady Colonels.
