Owensboro Catholic logoHIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (3/11/18) — Owensboro Catholic sophomore forward Hannah McKay was named to the All-Girls' Sweet 16 State Tournament Team on Sunday. McKay was the lone Owensboro Catholic player named to the all-tournament team.

McKay led Owensboro Catholic past Johnson Central in the opening round of the Girls' Sweet 16 and nearly lifted the Lady Aces past eventual repeat champion Mercer County in the quarterfinals. Mercer County held on to edge Owensboro Catholic 67-66 in the state tournament's second round.

In the opening round game versus 15th Region title winner Johnson Central, McKay recorded a double-double, scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Then, remaining a catalyst for Owensboro Catholic, McKay scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Lady Aces' season-ending loss. 

Thriving late in the state tournament, Mercer County rolled past Mercy Academy 74-34 in the title game at Northern Kentucky University's BB&T Arena on Sunday.
