Henderson County BaseballHENDERSON, Ky. (3/18/18) — The Henderson County baseball team is set to take the field under the direction of first-year head coach Adam Hines. The Colonels are slated to host Lyon County for a season-opener on Tuesday, March 20.

Before being named Henderson County's bench boss, Hines had served as the head coach of the Owensboro Catholic High School baseball program since 2012. Prior to his coaching position at Owensboro Catholic, Hines served as an assistant coach at Union College and was the head coach for Southeastern Illinois College.

Hines is a graduate of both Murray State University and Union College.

At Henderson County, Hines took over for head coach Nathan Isenberg.

The Colonels, following a loss to Caldwell County in the semifinals of the Second Region Baseball Tournament, concluded the 2017 season 24-14. Henderson County is the reigning Sixth District champion.

Lyon County compiled a 16-14 record in 2017. The Lyons lost to Crittenden County in the opening round of the Fifth District Baseball Tournament. Lyon County is under the direction of Jeff Embrey, another first-year head coach.

The Lyons are scheduled to host Dawson Springs for a season opener on Monday, March 19.

The first pitch for the Henderson County-Lyon County baseball game is set for 6 p.m..
