Hopkins County Central StormMADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/13/18) — Hopkins County Central fell at home as Butler County pulled away to win 12-6 in a high school baseball game on Thursday.

With the loss, Hopkins County Central slipped to 0-4.

Butler County improved to 4-4 with the win.

Gage Ward drove in five runs and earned the pitching win for the Bears. On the mound, Ward surrendered three runs on six hits over three innings, striking out four. Two other Butler County pitchers, Zach Smith and Warren Cameron, worked out of relief roles. 

Hayden Smith took the loss for the Storm. Smith surrendered nine runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out six.

Each high school baseball club banged out nine hits.

Offensively, Hunter McKee, Caleb Beasley and Parker Rice led Butler County with two hits apiece.

Hayden Smith, Dalton Shadrick and Will Cothran paced Hopkins County Central with two hits each.
