Madisonville North Hopkins MaroonsGREENVILLE, Ky. (4/14/18) — Defending state champion Madisonville-North Hopkins remained in the win column on Friday, upending host Muhlenberg County 4-1 in an early-season high school softball.

With the win, Madisonville-North Hopkins moved to 4-0.

Muhlenberg County dropped to 2-3 with the loss.

Madisonville-North Hopkins pitcher Courtney Patterson earned the win. Patterson allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Muhlenberg County pitcher Emma Rose suffered the loss. Rose allowed 10 hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Madisonville-North Hopkins doubled up Muhlenberg County 10-5 in the hits column. Lexi Miller, Acacia Gray, Mykayla Spurlin and Jayda Perkins led the Lady Maroons with two hits apiece.

Hannah Gossett went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Mustangs.
