muhl mustangs1 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (4/20/18) — Muhlenberg County was limited at the plate as Trigg County moved ahead early and eventually pulled away to win 10-0 in six innings in the Town and Country Classic at Hopkinsville High School on Thursday.

Muhlenberg County dropped to 6-7 with the loss.

With the win, Trigg County improved to 8-3.

The Wildcats set the tone early, scoring three runs in the top half of the first inning. 

Trigg County pitcher Ashton Plymale earned the win. Plymale worked six innings, allowing seven hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking zero.

Muhlenberg County pitcher Camden Carver took the loss. Carver tossed four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits and striking out seven.

Trigg County connected for 11 hits. Riley Stallons, Micah Brown and Darrin Brown delivered multiple hits for the Wildcats. Stallons went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Trigg County offensive effort.

The Mustangs collected seven hits in the setback. Nick Casey and Cole Shanks led Muhlenberg County with two hits apiece.
