Henderson County BaseballHENDERSON, Ky. (4/20/18) — Determined Henderson County battled back to beat visiting Butler County 6-2 in a high school baseball game on Thursday.

With the win, Henderson County improved to 9-5.

Butler County dropped to 6-5 with the loss.

The game was tied 2-2 with Henderson County batting in the bottom of the fifth when Maclaine Morris singled on a 0-1 count to score one run.

Henderson County pitcher Alex Chumbler claimed the win. Chumbler allowed two hits and two runs over four and a third innings, striking out three. Closing out the game on the mound for the Colonels, Jacob Workins threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.

Butler County pitcher Zach Smith took the loss. Smith went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out two and walking one.

Nolan Melton went 2-for-4 at the plate and delivered three RBIs to lead Henderson County's offensive attack.

Caleb Beasley and Gage Ward each managed one hit to pace Butler County at the plate. Ward and Parker Rice drove in one run apiece for the Bears.
