WC logoMAYFIELD, Ky. (4/22/18) — A walk-off walk in the bottom half of the seventh inning allowed Webster County to outlast Todd County Central 5-4 in the Eagle Classic at Graves County High School on Saturday.

Webster County improved to 5-11  with the win.

Todd County Central slipped to 2-10 with the loss.

The Trojans outhit the Rebels 9-7.

Brendon Thompson was the winning pitcher for the Trojans. Thompson allowed seven hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out eight.

Tanner Farmer took the loss for Todd County Central. Farmer surrendered three runs on five hits over two innings, striking out two.

McKinley Griggs started on the mound for the Rebels. Griggs lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out one.

Thompson, Luke May and Dylan Sowders led Webster County with two hits apiece.

Bryce Nolan went 2-for-3 at the plate to pace Todd County Central in the hits column.

Each high school baseball team committed two errors.
