Madisonville North Hopkins MaroonsCADIZ, Ky. (5/13/18) — Madisonville-North Hopkins moved ahead in the opening inning but couldn't maintain an advantage as host Trigg County took control and pulled away to win 6-1 in a high school baseball game on Saturday.

With the loss, Madisonville-North Hopkins dropped to 16-11.

The Wildcats plated two runs in back-to-back innings to take a 5-1 lead midway throughout the matchup.

Trigg County pitcher Jake Terrell notched the win. Terrell surrendered one run on six hits over seven innings, striking out eight and walking zero.

Madisonville-North Hopkins pitcher Blake Reynolds took the loss. Reynolds went four innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out two.

Trigg County outhit the Maroons 9-6. Riley Stallons and Savion Radford each hit a home run for Trigg County in the victory. CJ Ahart and Hayden Cunningham led Trigg County with two hits apiece.

Gunner Dameron paced Madisonville-North Hopkins with two hits of his own. Jon Hogart drove in the Maroons' lone run.
