wc baseb2 300MARION, Ky. (5/13/18) — Webster County fell short on the road as host Crittenden County scored in the bottom half of the eighth inning to win 4-3 in a high school baseball game on Saturday.

Following the loss, Webster County fell to 7-19.

Thanks to the walkoff, Crittenden County improved to 8-16.

Crittenden County pitcher Ethan Dossett earned the win. Dossett pitched two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one. Riley started the game on the mound for homestanding Crittenden County. Payton Riley lasted six innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out four.

Webster County pitcher Clayton Buchanan took the loss. Buchanan lasted one-third of an inning, allowing one hit and one run while striking out one and walking zero.
Logan Erickson started the game on the mound for the Trojans and lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out 11 and walking one.

Crittenden County doubled up the Trojans 6-3 in the hits column.

Cody Belt went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Crittenden County offensive effort.

Buchanan, Luke May and Brendon Thompson collected one hit apiece for the Trojans.

Each high school baseball team committed two errors.
