muhl mustangs1 300MORGANTOWN, Ky. (5/15/18) — Muhlenberg County fell short in a bid to claim a victory on the road as host Butler County held on to win 7-5 in a late-season high school baseball game on Monday.

With the loss, Muhlenberg County dropped to 16-12.

Ohio County improved to 12-10 with the win.

Butler County pitcher Warren Cameron pitched a complete game and earned the win. Cameron allowed seven hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out five.

Muhlenberg County pitcher Carson McKinney took the loss. McKinney went four and a third innings, allowing six runs on five hits while striking out three and walking one.

Gage Ward and Caleb Beasley paced Butler County at the plate, providing two hits apiece. Ward and Ronnie West drove in two runs each for the Bears.

Nick Casey led Muhlenberg County with two hits in four at-bats. Another Muhlenberg County batter, Peyton Lipe, smacked a home run in the seventh inning.
