apollo eagles logo 2015OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/15/18) — Apollo was unable to notch a win at home on Monday as visiting Webster County pulled away to win 8-2 in a late-season high school softball game.

With the loss, Apollo dropped to 16-8.

Webster County improved to 16-8-1 with the win.

Veteran Webster County pitcher Karlie Keeney pitched a complete game and earned the win. Keeney allowed four hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one over seven innings.

Apollo pitcher Haley John took the loss. John worked four innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out four.

Webster County outhit Apollo 7-4. The Lady Trojans won despite committing four errors.

At the plate, Grace Scott led Webster County with two hits and two RBIs.

John and Keely Eans paced Apollo at the plate, delivering one hit and one RBI apiece.

Apollo committed two errors in the setback.
