McLean CountyCALHOUN, Ky. (5/16/18) — McLean County prevailed at home on Tuesday, defeating visiting 3rd Region rival Owensboro 9-4 in a late-season high school softball game.

With the win, McLean County improved to 3-16.

Owensboro dropped to 10-21 with the loss.

McLean County pitcher Lauren Hoover notched the win. Hoover allowed seven hits and three runs over six innings, striking out one and walking one.

Another McLean County pitcher, Taylor Galloway, threw one inning in relief.

Owensboro pitcher Marlee Spain took the loss. Spain allowed 12 hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out five and walking one.

McLean County outhit Owensboro 12-10. Hoover, Ashley Vaught, Sarah Linville, Ashleigh Bobo and Kamryn McMahon each delivered multiple hits for the Lady Cougars. Vaught led McLean County with three hits in four at-bats. Bobo and McMahon delivered three RBIs and two RBIs, respectively.

Aubrie Schueler and Hannah Kate Divine each finished with multiple hits for the Lady Devils. Schueler went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Owensboro softball team.

The Lady Devils committed five errors in the loss.
