Cody BridgesOWENSBORO, Ky. (5/19/18) — Cody Bridges, a member of the Kentucky Wesleyan College baseball team, has brought home a pair of postseason accolades, being named First-Team All-Region D2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) and Second-Team All-Region National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). This marks the first All-Region honors for Bridges. He is the first Kentucky Wesleyan player selected to the NCBWA All-Region teams since 2015.

The centerfielder boasted a batting average of .429 and tallied a hit in 14 of the final 16 games of the season in addition to a 10-game hitting streak midway thru the year. The junior tabbed 29 multi-hit games including a perfect five-for-five in the opening game of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament.

Bridges drove in 35 runs on the year off of 20 doubles, four triples and one home run. He accumulated 91 hits and 17 stolen bases while scoring 57 runs himself.

A native of Elizabethtown, Bridges made his way into the Wesleyan record books this season. His 91 hits puts him first in the single season hits category while a batting average of .429 lands him tied for eighth in single season batting average.

Bridges finished the season ranked ninth in the nation in batting average (.429), and third in hits (91). He also ranks 19th in doubles (20), 44th in runs scored (57), 62nd in triples (4), 63rd in on base percentage (.485) and 71st in total bases (122).
