Madisonville MinersGREENVILLE, Ky. (6/9/18) — Madisonville prevailed in a high-scoring Ohio Valley League game on Friday, defeating host Muhlenberg County 15-11.

Each club banged out a dozen hits. But Muhlenberg County struggled defensively, committing eight hours.

Madisonville pitcher Trevor Evans earned the win. Evans surrendered four runs on six hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five.

Nate Chevalier, Brennan Hatten, Samuel Stewart and Tyler Etheridge each pitched out of relief roles for the Miners.

Muhlenberg County pitcher Cole Lyons took the loss. Lyons surrendered seven runs on four hits over four innings, striking out three.

Nate Chevalier and Jay Saunders led Madisonvillle with three hits apiece. Saunders drove in three runs while Sean Kearney, who provided two hits, delivered four RBIs. 

Javy Lopez, Eddy Hart, Jacob Kucia, Noah Myers and Cary Holloway each collected two hits for the Stallions. Myers drove in five runs for Muhlenberg County in the loss.
