henderson flashPADUCAH, Ky. (6/9/18) — Visiting Henderson pulled away to defeat Paducah 13-5 in an Ohio Valley League (OVL) game on Friday.

Henderson pitcher Trevor Nicholson earned the win. Nicholson pitched five innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out four.

Another Henderson pitcher, Kelly Jones, threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Jones recorded the last 12 outs to claim the save.

Paducah pitcher Stone Selby took the loss. Selby pitched three and a third innings, allowing nine runs on four hits and striking out three.

Paducah lost despite outhitting Henderson 11-8. Defensively, the two teams combined for nine errors. Paducah made five defensive miscues in the setback.

Nick Shumaker led Madisonville at the plate, providing three hits. Another Madisonville batter, Brandon Kelly, delivered two hits.

Nolan Fertig, Zach Smith and Bradley Gray paced Paducah with two hits apiece.
