KHSAA FootballLOUISVILLE, Ky. (6/10/18) — A pair of area high school quarterbacks are poised to compete in the Bluegrass QB Challenge at Christian Academy of Louisville on Saturday, June 16.

Daviess County's Joey Cambron and Owensboro Catholic's Drew Hartz are preparing to compete in the upcoming high school quarterback competition. Cambron, Hartz and eight other high school quarterbacks from throughout the state have accepted invitations for the event. 

The highly productive Cambron led the state in passing in 2017, completing 236 of 421 passes for 4,078 yards and 49 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. With Cambron leading the way, Daviess County finished runner-up to Central Hardin in Class 6A, Region 1.

Hartz completed 117 of 198 passes for 1,805 yards and 26 touchdowns with eight interceptions for Owensboro Catholic during the 2017 season. Under Hartz's leadership, Owensboro Catholic finished runner-up to perennial state title contender Mayfield in Class 2A, Region 1.

In addition to Cambron and Hartz, the 10-player field for the Bluegrass QB Challenge will include Reed Lanter (Boyle County), Beau Buchanan (Bowling Green), Joby Jaggers (Caldwell County), Eli Sammons (Greenup County), Luke Duby (Tates Creek), Rae Von Vaden (Moore), Jay Bland (Hopkinsville) and Ryan Mathis (Graves County).
